Landspider Citytraxx G/P, H/P or H/T: Which One Suits Your Car?

Landspider Citytraxx G/P, H/P or H/T: Which One Suits Your Car?

Landspider's road tyres all carry the Citytraxx name, followed by two letters: G/P, H/P or H/T. Those letters are not decoration. Each version is built for a different kind of car and a different kind of driving, and picking the wrong one is the most common mistake with this range: a sporty low-profile tyre on a family SUV that never leaves the highway, or a touring tyre on a car whose placard calls for a higher speed rating.

GCCO is the official UAE distributor of Landspider, so we carry all three versions across the common sizes. This is what each one is, in the maker's own words where it matters, and how to choose between them.

Who makes Landspider

Landspider belongs to Qingdao Landspider Tire Co., Ltd., based in Qingdao, China. The company describes itself as a passenger and truck tyre business that runs research, development and purchasing, and supplies its tyres from production partners in China, Thailand and Cambodia, with ranges developed for markets that include the Middle East. Every Landspider tyre we currently stock is made in Thailand; the country is printed on each product page and on the sidewall.

Landspider is a value brand, and that is a useful way to read the rest of this guide. These are tyres designed to give honest, dependable performance for the money, and the three Citytraxx versions let you spend that money where your car actually needs it.

Citytraxx G/P: the everyday car tyre

Landspider calls the G/P "the value-oriented year-round tire for car, Minivans and CUVs", and lists long tread life and a comfortable ride as its aims, with a silica compound for wet grip and fuel efficiency. In plain terms it is a touring tyre for normal cars driven normally: the commute, the school run, the drive to Al Ain at the weekend.

It comes in smaller rim sizes, and we carry it in 15 and 16 inch, which covers most compact and mid-size saloons, hatchbacks and small crossovers. A Toyota Corolla on 195/65 R15 or 205/55 R16 is exactly the kind of car it was designed for. Every size we have is under Citytraxx G/P.

Citytraxx H/P: performance for saloons and SUVs

The H/P is the sporty member of the family. Landspider describes it as "an ultra-high-performance summer tire designed for passenger cars and SUVs". Its tread is asymmetric: the inner part is shaped to clear water, the stiffer outer shoulder blocks are there for steering response, and chamfered block edges with a varied block sequence keep the noise down. It comes in W and Y speed ratings only.

That makes it the natural choice for cars on larger, lower-profile wheels: sporty saloons, coupes and the many SUVs that now leave the factory on 20, 21 or 22 inch rims. We stock Citytraxx H/P from 17 up to 24 inch, up to big-SUV sizes such as 285/40 R22 and 295/35 R24. Browse them under Citytraxx H/P.

Two practical points. "Summer tyre" means it is built for warm-weather grip, which in the UAE is the normal condition all year. And because it is a performance tyre, it is the version where the load index and speed symbol on your door placard matter most; our guide to speed and load ratings explains how to read them.

Citytraxx H/T: the highway SUV tyre

H/T stands for highway terrain. Landspider's own summary is "balancing optimal comfort, silence performance and reliable handling on highway-terrain", with an even-wearing tread and a strong shoulder for durability, built for SUVs, light trucks and vans. This is the tyre for the large family SUV that spends nearly all its life on tarmac.

We carry it from 16 to 22 inch, including the common big-SUV sizes such as 265/65 R18 and 275/60 R20, and light-truck (LT) sizes for pickups and vans that carry heavy loads. If your SUV leaves the tarmac now and then, read our all-terrain versus highway tyre comparison first, and our guide to the five kinds of 4x4 tyre; an H/T is quiet and comfortable on the road but it is not an off-road tyre. The full range is under Citytraxx H/T.

What the grades in the catalogue tell you

Landspider's 2026 Middle East catalogue lists the American UTQG grades for each version: G/P 560 A A, H/P 420 A A and H/T 480 A A. The number is a treadwear grade, the maker's comparison of expected wear under a standard test, and it is most meaningful between tyres of the same brand. Here it says what you would expect: the G/P touring tyre is graded to wear longest, and the H/P performance tyre trades some tread life for grip. The two letters are the traction grade and the temperature grade: all three score A on both, which is the highest temperature grade and the second-highest traction grade, after AA.

Treat treadwear numbers across different brands with caution, because each maker grades its own tyres. Within Citytraxx, though, they are a fair guide to the trade-off you are choosing.

How to choose in three questions

  • What does your door placard say? Size, load index and speed symbol come from the car, not from the tyre brand. Start there; our guide to reading a tyre size helps.
  • What size are your wheels? 15 or 16 inch on a car points to the G/P. 17 inch and up on a sporty saloon, or a big-wheel SUV used on the road, points to the H/P. A high-sidewall SUV or pickup size points to the H/T.
  • How do you drive? Mostly city and highway at normal speeds, wanting comfort and long life: G/P or H/T. Faster driving, sharper handling and low-profile wheels: H/P.

If two versions are offered in your size, the deciding question is usually comfort and tread life against sharper handling. Whichever you choose, fit the same version on both wheels of an axle; our guide to mixing tyres explains why.

Buying from the official distributor

Buying Landspider from the distributor means the tyres come through the official supply line with a production date you can check before fitting (our DOT date code guide shows how), and a direct route for any manufacturing-defect claim: keep the invoice and bring the tyre to any of our branches. With tyres bought from us, balancing, nitrogen filling, rotation every 10,000 km and a full checkup are free.

Frequently asked questions

Is Landspider a Chinese brand?

Landspider is owned by Qingdao Landspider Tire Co., Ltd. in China, and its tyres are produced by partner plants in China, Thailand and Cambodia. Every Landspider tyre we currently sell is made in Thailand; the country is on the sidewall and on each product page.

Is Citytraxx G/P an all-season tyre?

Landspider calls it a year-round touring tyre, and it carries the M+S marking. In the UAE what matters is simply that it is a general touring tyre built for comfort and long life; there is no snow to plan for.

Can I fit Citytraxx H/P on my SUV?

Yes, if your SUV's size, load index and speed symbol are available in it; Landspider designed the H/P for passenger cars and SUVs, and many of its 20 to 24 inch sizes are SUV fitments. For a high-sidewall SUV size driven mostly for comfort, the H/T is usually the better match.

Which Citytraxx lasts longest?

Going by Landspider's own treadwear grades, the G/P (560) is graded to wear longest, then the H/T (480) and the H/P (420). Real life depends on pressure, alignment and how you drive; regular rotation makes the biggest difference you control.

Which sizes do you carry?

We carry most common sizes: the G/P in 15 and 16 inch, the H/P from 17 to 24 inch and the H/T from 16 to 22 inch. Stock changes, so check the product page for your size or message us on WhatsApp.
