Buying Tyres Online in the UAE: How It Works, Fitting and What to Check

"How do I know they will fit, and how do I know they are not five years old?" That is what most people are really asking when they hesitate over buying tyres online. It is a fair worry. A tyre is not a phone case - the wrong size is useless, and an old one is dangerous even if it looks perfect. So let us take the gamble out of it.
Buying tyres online in the UAE is genuinely easy once you know the four things to get right: your size, your fitting, the date on what turns up, and how you pay. Here is the whole process, the way we would explain it to a friend.
Step one: get your size right
This is the part people fear, and it is the easiest. Your tyre size is written on the side of your current tyres and on the placard in the driver's door jamb, as something like 235/50 R18. Match that and you cannot go wrong. You do not need to understand every number to order correctly - you just need to copy it accurately - but if you want to, our guide on how to read your tyre size breaks down what each part means.
One tip that saves grief: check that all four tyres say the same size before you order, because some cars leave the showroom with staggered sizes front and rear, and some have had an odd tyre fitted at some point. On our tyre range you can filter straight to your size, so you only ever see tyres that actually fit your car.
Step two: choose the tyre, not just the price
Once you are looking at tyres in your size, the choice is about budget and use. There is a genuine spread, from premium names like Michelin and Bridgestone, through solid mid-tier brands, down to honest budget options like Laufenn, which we distribute officially in the UAE. Cheaper is not a trap and dearest is not always necessary - it depends on your mileage, your car and how you drive. We wrote a full, no-spin comparison in budget versus premium tyres if you want help deciding.
Whatever tier you pick, you are buying brand-new, current tyres - not the mystery stock a bargain hunter sometimes ends up with. Which brings us to the thing to check on arrival.
Step three: fitting - at a branch, or we come to you
A tyre delivered to your door is not much use on its own, so decide how it gets onto the car before you order:
- Fitting at one of our branches is free. Choose it at checkout and there is nothing added - you drive in, we mount, balance and fit, and you drive out. Balancing and a general check come with it.
- Mobile fitting, where our van comes to your home or office, is a paid service (150 AED at the time of writing). It is the convenient option when you cannot get to a branch, and it is honest about being a real service with a real cost, rather than a "free" that hides in the price somewhere else.
Either way the fitting is done by people who fit tyres all day, with proper balancing, not left to chance. If you would rather come in, you can find your nearest branch and its hours before you buy.
Step four: check the date the moment they arrive
This is the check that separates a confident buyer from an anxious one. Every tyre has a DOT code on the sidewall ending in four digits - the week and the year it was made. 2325 means the 23rd week of 2025. A tyre is "new" when it is unused, but rubber ages on the shelf as well as on the road, so you want recent stock, not something that has sat in a warehouse since 2019.
Check it when the tyres arrive, or at the branch before they go on. Our full walkthrough on reading the DOT date code shows you exactly where to look. Any honest seller expects you to check, and we would rather you did.
Paying, VAT and the two-tyre minimum
A few practical things that come up at checkout:
- The price you see includes 5 percent VAT. Nothing is added on top at the end - the figure on the product is the figure you pay for the tyre.
- You can pay by card, split it with Tabby, or pay in cash when you collect or when we fit. Tabby lets you spread the cost over instalments, which takes the sting out of a full set.
- The minimum order is two tyres. That is not a sales tactic - tyres should be replaced in pairs across an axle so the grip matches side to side, which is why the site asks for at least two.
Is buying online actually cheaper, or is there a catch?
Usually it is a little cheaper, and there is no catch - the same tyres, the same fitting bays, just ordered ahead instead of decided on the spot. The real advantage is not even the price; it is that you choose calmly at home, compare sizes and brands without a queue behind you, and arrive knowing exactly what you are getting and what it costs. The old fear - that online means faceless, or old stock, or a fitting problem - simply does not apply when the seller has physical branches you can walk into and a phone number a person actually answers.
If anything about your size or your choice is unclear, do not guess. Send us the numbers and we will confirm the right tyre before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
Do you fit the tyres I buy online?
Yes. Fitting at any of our branches is free - choose it at checkout, drive in, and we mount, balance and fit them for you, with a general check included. If you cannot get to a branch, our mobile van can come to you for a fixed fee (150 AED at the time of writing).
How do I know the tyres are new and not old stock?
Check the DOT code on the sidewall - the last four digits are the week and year of manufacture. We sell current, brand-new tyres, and we expect you to check the date before they go on. If you are ever unsure, ask us to confirm the manufacture date before you buy.
Can I pay cash when the tyres are delivered or fitted?
Yes. You can pay by card online, split the cost with Tabby, or pay in cash when you collect or when we fit the tyres. Whatever is easiest for you.
Do I have to buy two tyres, or can I buy just one?
The minimum is two. Tyres are meant to be replaced in matching pairs across an axle so that grip is even side to side, especially under braking - a single odd tyre can change how the car behaves. In some cases we will still advise a full set of four; it depends on how worn the others are.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
Tell us before fitting and it is easily sorted - nothing is mounted until we have the right tyre for your car. The best insurance is to copy the size from your door placard or current sidewall exactly, and to message us the numbers first if you have any doubt.
